Painting - Oil On Hardboard
While hiking down the North face of Mount Madison in New Hampshire's Presidential Range, I came upon this isolated stand of Tamarack trees in their blaze of autumn color even though the same species in the valley below had not yet begun to change. The beautiful contrast of complimentary colors in the sky and foliage compelled me to capture the scene in oils when I got back to the studio.
