We are born
to her

The Mother.
We suckle at her breast,
her plump nipple
echoed
in tiny seashells
and infinite galaxies.
Embraced and nurtured
we grow.
Until,
having sucked her dry
we turn from her,
She who has given us life,
oblivious to her last, small
milky-white tear.
