Based on my original photograph: Moonrise at Sunset 1, this oil painted effect version is more bright and colorful and with texture effects. This is the Strawberry Moon from June 18, 2016 rising at sunset. The clouds were brilliant shades of purple and orange shown against silhouettes of trees and hills. Orange County, California.

In 2016 the summer solstice was especially significant because it coincided with the Strawberry Moon. ... The last Strawberry Moon/summer solstice meeting was in 1967.
