This drainage ditch is located 1 mile west of Interstate 71 on state route 250 across from the local Wal-mart. This area is a great habitat for Canadian Geese to migrate. You will find Canada Geese here all the time. They will lay there eggs and sit in them till they hatch, Then they will cross a busy state route 250 to the water where they will teach the young chicks how to swim and fend for themselves. In the late fall some will take off and head to another area while most stay in this area. The babies in this print are about 6 weeks old. Mom and Dad seemed to be kind of friendly since I was no more then 2 feet away when I shot this print. They did watch me very close and sometimes if people get to close to the young chicks they will attack. The Canada Geese really hate when a large crowd hangs around there babies. If you look at the one on the right in the print you will notice him watching me out the corner of his left eye while mom is keeping an eye on the babies making sure they don't get to close to the water till she is ready to go.
