Description

The image was captured at Fort Fisher in Kure Beach, NC.The air was so bitterly cold, but the seagulls didn't seem to mind. The smell of fish was perfectly potent for them, I'm sure.

Fort Fisher is six solace miles of beach, trails and salt marsh filled with wildlife. A lot of the locals do surf fishing and four wheeling in some spots in Fort Fisher.

The cold is harsh during the winter months, but it doesn't stop the locals from enjoying the sound and view of the waves, along with the smell of salt in the air.

Those elements are so comforting after an extended absence from the ocean that raised you.
