Description
My Minnesota client sent me three winter photos with lots of snow to use as reference in composing this summer portrait of his family home. They were in the midst of selling this beauty and he wanted to give his wife a special memory gift of this home portrait for Christmas.
Since I had no summer photo to use as reference, he described the plants, black-eyed Susans and purple cone flowers in front of the picket fence. He wanted to make sure that I included the tree house which holds a lot of happy memories for the couple and their children. The winter photo had a hint of sunshine on the side of the house but, with my client's permission, I tried to add some life to the drab winter scene by directing the summer sunshine toward the front of the home creating highlights and shadows from the beautiful surrounding mature trees onto the house and in the yard.
