The scenic views and a look into the lives of the Ancestral Pueblo people who made this their home for over 700 years, from AD 600 to 1300, Colorado Mesa Verde National Park, Mesa Verde is Spanish for green table. This is one of the best preserved Ancestral Puebloan archeological sites in the United States. It was created by President Theodore Roosevelt in 1906, 52,485 acres near the Four Corners area of the American Southwest, and with more than 4,300 sites, including 600 cliff dwellings, it is the largest archeological preserve in the US.
