The Meeker Vineyard is a family-owned winery in Sonoma County, California that's been "rocking the blues and making big reds" since 1977. Charlie Meeker was a former president of Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer as well as an award winning wine maker. Their web site explains " In the beginning, we put our handprints on these bottles so everyone would know it was a Meeker Merlot - big, fruit-forward, full-bodied, and with tannic structure for days. Now you know what kind of wine this is! But we keep handprinting because the bottles are just so darned gorgeous." Yes, very pretty, especially paired with a fine Austrian bottle stopper and a fancy hand painted Mackenzie Childs goblet in the Arbor Rose pattern! Now that's a classy cocktail hour!
