A silent sentinel stands guard in the threshold of an ancient stone archway. Clad head-to-toe in polished plate armor—each overlapping steel segment etched with subtle wear—the knight’s visor is down, hiding any hint of expression. In one gauntleted hand he grips a hefty spiked mace; the other holds near the hilt of a longsword. The massive wooden door beside him swings outward on iron hinges, its warm grain illuminated by late day light that casts the knight’s silhouette against swirling wisps of mist on the castle courtyard floor. Vines creep along the weathered stone walls, their dark green tendrils contrasting with the cool gray masonry.
From the artist: this was part of a series of knight themed images I was working on for 2025.
