Description
The Maytag Repairman statue by Nick Klepinger is called "Ol' Lonely". Its roots are the older Maytag appliance advertisements depicting a bored repairman on a park bench because "the Maytag machines never break down." This popular sculpture includes a boy trying to get his attention, and the repairman's basset hound, named Newton. The sculpture in the Fred Maytag Park has been in that location since 2007, the year the Maytag manufacturing plant closed in Newton, Iowa. The first washing machine was made at that plant in 1907.
This would make an amazing throw pillow, mug, or jigsaw puzzle. Please visit lindabrittain.pixels.com for many other gift and home decor suggestions.
