What an exciting and magical adventure photographing the wild horses of the Salt River in Arizona. A continuing series I am photographing on wild horses of the USA.
To watch these proud magnificent wild mustang animals as they grazed on grass in the Salt River was a very special and moving moment.
The Salt River wild horses are amazing majestic horses roaming the lower Salt River in the Tonto National Forest in Arizona. They are the icon of the wild, free spirit of the American West.
The Salt River wild horses are in danger of removal by the US Forest Service. The Salt River Wild Horse Management Management Group is leading the charge to secure lasting protection for the iconic Salt River wild horses.
Jerry Cowart award winning nature, landscape photographer - My journey with photography is an ongoing and ever-evolving process. I am challenged to slow down each and every day in this busy world and to stop and admire all the beauty by which I am surrounded. What I have discovered is to enjoy the moment, to love the sound of the shutter as it goes off and be lost in the joy of that one perfect moment and be able to capture it in my camera. For that one magic moment, and in the blink of an eye it will be gone, I see the perfection and beauty in a world that is not always kind and loving as I would want it to be.
My photography is about seeing and experiencing the beauty all around me and hoping it will move the viewer in a way they feel what I felt in that moment, in that once in a lifetime moment that has now been caught in the beauty of a print for all to see.
It is my intention through my photography to share the beauty and perfection I see with those that view my work. I hope you enjoy my work and thank you for taking the time to view it.
