A couple of lads enjoying a late afternoon pint as the last rays of the sun light up the Regan sign on Marcie's pub in Trim, County Meath. The historic public house is on the outskirts of the town at the foot of the old bridge which leads across the Boyne river, past the ruins of a medieval Hospitaller abbey to the Dublin road. Marcie's was one of a handful of public houses in Ireland that had a special licence to serve travelers at whatever time they needed refreshment, consequently meaning that people often were only arriving at the pub as other pubs were closing!
