This majestic Himalayan peak standing at 6,993 meters in the Annapurna Himal of North central Nepal is called Mount Machapuchare. Also known as the Fishtail Mountain due to its double summit that looks like a fishtail. 25 km North of Pokhara, the mountain is revered by the local population as particularly sacred to the God Shiva and is off limits to climbers.
