Madonna - Michelangelo
Drawing - Crayons And India Ink On Paper
Day 78 of the 100 day 2021 art challenge.
My reference for this sketch was from the work of MICHELANGELO. I chose to do a painting / drawing of his sculpture of Madonna. This DRAWING is my interpretation.
About 1 hour of working with Crayola crayons and India ink on paper. Crayon first, followed by the use of a scratching tool to create contour lines, then applied India ink in various time increments, using a paper towel to control the amount. I thought the ink would only adhere to the grooves that I created, and not to the crayon, but I found that unless I used the paper towel to quickly remove the surface liquid, the ink would remain. Once that discovery was made I was able to control the look of the piece. Your comments are welcome.
