Madder Lake Flowers
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
This painting is comprised of only three pigments. I used Prussian Blue and Vine Black for the dark background, and Madder Lake for the petals. It is the first time I have used this particular manufacturer's Madder Lake and found it to be very clumpy so there are actually clumps of the watercolor paint in the very dark areas. The original painting is 10.25"x14.25" in size and is painted on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper using Rublev 18th century reproduction watercolor paint.
