Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
I decided to use a 1" flat brush to paint this entire piece. I didn't care if there were brush strokes, blooms, or blossoms and I just wanted to see how versatile a flat brush could be. I used a Robert Simmons Sapphire series brush and found it to be very springy and incredibly versatile. The original piece is painted entirely with Sennelier watercolor paint on Arches 140# cold-pressed paper. I may try another one of these with a little more attention paid to keeping some smooth gradations in the shading. We will see!

Great, Ken! I don't think you will beat this one - I like how you let the paint do the work for you!
Ken Powers replied:
Thanks Bette! I had fun laying caution to the wind with the way the paint interacted within the petal shapes.

Turned out great, Ken. I love using angle brushes & find them to be even more versatile than flats.
Ken Powers replied:
Thanks Marsha! I might have a couple smaller angled brushes to play with. I'll have to take a look!
