This Chrysanthemum flower was just starting to open up for blooming and looked like a burst of petals. This macro close up shows the golden tips of the petals which bring out the pink purple pastel like tones of the flower.
Mums, as they are also called, come in a variety of colors and shapes and are in the Asteraceae family of flowers. Most have originated from Asia and northeastern Europe. In the United States we see them as Fall season flower.
