Description
This vintage Luckenbach Texas sign, old listen plates and lucky horseshoes are tacked to the wall outdoes the iconic Dance Hall.
Luckenbach, in southern Gillespie County, began its community life as a trading post with local Comanche Indians. Population hit is high-watermark of 462 residents in 1904, and by 1970 the area was a ghost town. Hondo Crouch, responding to a newspaper add offering up for sale a town with population 3, bought the town in 1970 for $30,000. Made famous in song by Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson, tourists are drawn to Luckenbach for its dance hall, post office/general store, saloon, live music and Texas nostalgia. Drawing from the song, the town's motto is "Everybody's Somebody in Luckenbach".
This fine art photographic image is the perfect decorative piece for all who love Texas nostalgia.
