Today, this old house sits idled, nestled among towering sturdy oaks in her front yard. After years of a lived-in appearance, she is now lost and abandoned. Love does not fill her walls anymore as it did in abundance when the sounds of feet, both big and small walked and ran her polished wooden floors, when hands closed and banged her doors and when smells of the evening meals danced through the air like wind-blown aromas of honeysuckle on a breezy summer night. Nowadays, she sits abandoned on a rural road in Goochland, Virginia.
