Long Walks On The Beach Sea Bird

Description
While in California I visited Ventura Beach to take in the ocean air and discover birds, rocks and anything else to keep in remembrance. This long-billed Curlew was walking on the shore and had such long strides in its walk that I made a play on the term ‘I like taking long walks on beach’ with the title of this image. I love the color tones of this interesting bird.
Long Billed Curlew s (Numenius americanus) are shore birds in the Sandpiper family of birds. They can be seen along beach and ocean shores as well as marshlands around the ocean. They forage for deep burrowing prey such as crabs, shrimp and worms. When they walk they have a proud looking march with long strides.

This curlew is so self-confident! Great shot. Didn't realise that you have curlews in US. Thought they belonged to us in Australia :)
