London, Tower Bridge - 09
Tower Bridge is a London bridge, located on the River Thames. It connects the villages of Southwark and Tower Hamlets, near the Tower of London, from which it takes its name.
The Tower Bridge is a relatively recent bridge: its construction began in 1886 and was completed only in 1894.
Tower Bridge, especially in the second half of the twentieth century, began to gain international success, becoming one of the main symbols of London, preceded only by Big Ben and flanked by Trafalgar Square and the London Eye. Precisely because of its notoriety, often in the common language we tend to confuse it with the London Bridge (which is instead a bridge in its own right, on its left), although the two structures have different histories and architecture.
