The day after a summer storm, the Cottonwood Trail boardwalk at Shenandoah River State Park (Bentonville, Virginia) was decorated with a variety of fallen leaves, twigs and piece of bark that had blown from the trees in the wind and rain. I thought the colors, textures and shapes set against the boards made attractive and interesting studies….
