The International Union for the Conservation of Nature says koalas are one of the 10 animals most vulnerable to climate change. Increasing carbon dioxide in the atmosphere causes longer, more intense droughts and wildfires; and decreases the water-content & nutritional quality of eucalyptus leaves, which is the koalas’ main water & food source. Thousands of koalas were killed in the recent Australian bushfires and substantial portions of their habitat were destroyed. Part of the 100 WILD ANIMAL MINI-PRINTS series.
