Description
"Kingman, Kansas, Street Clock" by Catherine Sherman.
A four-face street (or post) clock stands by a grain elevator near the Kingman, Kansas, train depot. Street clocks, adapted from public Victorian clock designs in England, first appeared in the eastern United States in about 1870. Now they are a familiar and welcome sight throughout the country in public places.
