King Lake Summer Landscape
Photograph - Photograph
'King Lake Summer Landscape', a mountain landscape photograph by Lynn Cyrus / Cascade Colors. The Indian Peaks Wilderness Area is a beautiful preserved wilderness lying within the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, near the communities of Eldora and Nederland. In my experience it is the best location in the Front Range to view and photograph summer wildflowers; there are many moisture-rich open meadows in the alpine and along the mountain slopes. In mid August, wildflowers are still abundant in this area near King Lake. King Lake itself can be seen beneath the peak rising in the background, and Rosy Paintbrush and aster blooms fill the meadow in the foreground. A clear, intense blue sky shines overhead. This beautiful scene was a Third Place finisher in the 'Landscapes with Flowers and Mountains' Fine Art America Contest, November 2015!
