Description
This photograph was taken in June, in the Ruby Mountains, near Elko, Nevada, USA. It was a two mile walk from the parking lot, and we were rewarded with this beautiful landscape scene. What a surprise for a springtime hike - snow covered mountains, an icy lake, and a profusion of wildflowers! In the middle of the lake there is an island, giving this area the name "Island Lake." It is reached by traveling to Lamoille, and follow the signs to Lamoille Canyon.
