Iris Iv - Series II
Painting - Acrylic/collage On Wood Panel
This 8"x8" painting was created on a wood panel 1.5" deep. The raw wood was lightly stained to accentuate the natural wood grain. The Iris was then painted with acrylic. I then collaged over the painting with handpainted found papers, leaving some areas of the underpainting peeking through. Variegated gold leaf flakes embellish the center of the bloom. The surface is coated with a gloss top coat. The edges of this panel are painted in a bronze metallic and ready for display - no need for framing.
