Description
A narrow side street in the historic old quarter of Toulouse, Southern France. Toulouse is known as 'La Ville Rose' or pink city, due to the vast amount of terracotta architecture throughout the city. In the sun, the entire town seems to take on a vibrant pink glow. The turquoise window shutters compliment the teal blue of the summer sky perfectly in this vertical image. I blended painterly textures with my original photograph in black and white to achieve a more impressionistic feel which I felt suited this old world European street scene.
