Description
A super telephoto lens and patience converged to capture this bison close-up. I spotted this magnificent bison in Yellowstone's Lamar Valley. The residue of a brief rain added texture to the bison's fur, drawing the viewer into the image toward the watchful, all-seeing eye. I love the mystery of the image--so many potential stories. Is the bison angry or content, happy or sad, ready to for a throw down or out for a morning mosey? I chose to present this image in black and white to highlight the eye and horn, providing the image with texture and depth.
Don't try to capture a similar image without a safe distance and a big lens. You do not want that bison eye sizing you up for a business meeting with those horns. Trust me, I'm a doctor (well Ph.D.--you get the picture).
This image is the perfect wall compliment--home or office. It is the perfect reminder of bison encounters in Yellowstone National Park and a fabulous conversation piece. The image is available in sizes up to 72 inches tall (SIX FEET TALL) and looks terrific on framed canvas or as a matted & framed luster print.
