Description
I Need My Coffee! About coffee series art. I thought I would start a series about coffee. I have been a coffee lover for over 30 years. I have recently cut back from 3 cups a day to 2 cups with no coffee after 4pm. I remember many years ago when I was in nursing school, the night before an exam, we would have study groups and the pot would go on around 7pm and we would study till we could no longer hold our heads up. Back then I never had any issues going to sleep after drinking coffee at night. Now I do not drink any caffeine after 4pm. Caffeine is a drug and many of us who drink it daily are addicted. It is actually a diagnosis in the Psychiatric DSM4 book of disorders. If you have ever tried going without it for a couple of days, you will understand why it is referred to as a drug. A terrible headache, a foggy feeling like you can't think right. The concept behind this creation is what would I do for that morning coffee? What lengths would I go? I remember a snow storm here in New England where they issues a warning of a power outage. I went out and purchased one of those adapters for the car where you could plug in an appliance. I was going to get to my car in blizzard conditions and plug in my coffee pot and brew a cup from the car. I remember laughing about this with my Mom as we do not live far from each other. She said, I'll be over for some as soon as I'm plowed out. Actually I have a lot of fond memories of coffee over the years. Coffee was a comfort of sorts while working any shift in the hospital for many of us. A good cup of coffee to face the work head on. Every unit had a coffee pot and the hospitals always made sure we had plenty of coffee.

An outstanding image with a highly entertaining description !….I peaked out years ago at 12 cups a day, and have gradually reduced my daily addiction to 4 cups, the first of which I am pouring into my stomach feeding tube now, mixed with my Medicare nutrition formula. Last cup is at 5 pm… Many thanks to MaxWell House !

Thanks so much for your comment, Douglas. I am down to two cups black coffee a day from three. When I was working at a local hospital, coffee was brewing 24/7. Wow, to 12 cups a day....guess we are now all in the DSM4 book! LOL Great work with reducing to 4!! Kudos!!

I can't quite imagine going out to my car in blizzard conditions to make a pot of coffee -- guess I object to snow even more than I love coffee, and I LOVE coffee! (And I live in upstate New York, go figure!) I really like this picture, looking forward to seeing the rest of the series!

Lori, Luckily we never lost power, but I was ready and determined. I also asked my Mom for an old fashioned percolator pot that I could put on the gas grill but she didn't have one anymore. LOL Thank you for your thoughts and kind words, Lori! I'm honored you like it!
