Title
Huguenot Cross And Shield
Artist
Anne Norskog
Medium
Painting - Hand-drawn Digital Painting
Description
The Huguenot Christian Cross is one of the most beautiful symbols of Christianity. The butterfly has also been used to symbolize Christ as have roses. This work incorporates the Huguenot Cross, a golden butterfly and golden roses on a field of fire put together as a heraldry shield. This work has my butterfly logo serving as its signature.
I am a digital artist who paints in the traditional sense: just with non-traditional tools.
Every piece of art in my gallery is original; not scanned; not a photograph. Using only the computer mouse, I draw every line, add every bit of shading, highlights, blending, and refining to finish a piece. All of the art is started on a blank white page in Microsoft Paintbrush. The finishing process is done using Adobe Photoshop Elements. The viewer is respectfully reminded all of my works are copyright protected. Every piece is printed using only the finest of professional materials available, by a professional printing house. Rigorous quality control is employed to guarantee a satisfactory work of fine art.
Open copies are now available on Fine Art America with Prints on Demand.

Thank you Nina! Also, thanks for the information concerning the Huguenots in Africa.

Very beautiful work. I have read about the Huguenots and spoke online with a pastor from South Africa who said many of them settled there as well and retained their Reformed theology.

Thank you Roger! Thank you Glenn! I wanted this piece to look regal. The Huguenot Christian Cross was designed hundreds of years ago in France. Apparently, some of my distant family members were Huguenot and had to escape France--they fled to Ireland to keep from getting beheaded because of their religious choices. Happy New Year gentlemen!
