Big Tex stands as the iconic fixture at the State Fair of Texas. The lanky cowboys signature phrase greets visitors: "Howdy folks, this is Big Tex. The current rendition (pictured in this image) debuted in September 2013. The original Big Tex, a fair fixture since 1952, was destroyed by an electrical fire during the 2012 fair.
The cultural icon stands 55 feet tall and sports clothing sponsored by the Lone Star States most iconic western wear suppliers.
