Description

This thick, impenetrable jungle semi abstract began as a mixed media painting with a lot of texture created by incorporating various art papers and paint. The finished painting was done with acrylic paint to depict an abstract, stylized tropical palm forest. I cropped the original photograph of the painting and applied a digital paint application to it to create this posterized effect. To me, this intensifies the feeling of tropical heat. This could be a shoreline in coastal Florida or the Caribbean Islands.

This is an original acrylic mixed media painting by Sharon Eng which has been digitally enhanced with another paint application. I am an exhibiting artist in southwest Florida (recently relocated from Hendersonville, North Carolina), and my art has been exhibited in galleries in Florida, Georgia and North Carolina and is in collections nationwide. I create abstract photography, mixed media photo painting, acrylic mixed media, and acrylic paintings. Many of my abstract and semi-abstract works would make great decorative throw pillows or shower curtains. I've even had a couple abstracts made into my personal cell phone covers.
