Several years back, I went up in the summer to the Columbia River Gorge in Oregon. The weather was perfect, but my footing was not. Soon after this, I had to leave due to my Fall. I hope to return sometime soon. It is such a Beautiful area. Multnomah County
Stream: Horsetail Creek
Height: 192 ft.
Access: car wheelchair dog
Elevation: 50 ft.
Directions:Along I-84, take exit 28 at Bridal Veil (or exit 35 at Dodson if traveling west on I-84). Drive east along the Columbia Gorge Scenic Hwy for 5.5 miles to the signed turnout for Horsetail Falls.
Horsetail Falls is an easy to get to and very impressive horsetail-shaped waterfall (it is named well). There is a pool for swimming or wading, though it might be a bit on the cold side. But we saw some kids playing around in it while we ate lunch beside the beautiful falls. Do not forget to follow the trail from here up to the top to see Ponytail Falls.
