All day long, the lobster men of Bar Harbor take to the seas to catch and harvest their lobsters. Lobster is definitely a delicacy that many tourists and native Mainers enjoy all summer long. Back in the day, people living on Mount Desert Island could walk out into the water and pick one right up from the ocean floor. Yes, I am not joking. They were found in abundance. Today, there are many rules, too many to go into here, that keep them safe and protected. Lobster men know these rules and abide by them strictly. So the next time you eat a lobster, thank the lobster men who trek out each and every day in many different weather conditions just so we can enjoy the buttery taste of lobster.
