Japanese Zen Calligraphy, Hail to the Buddha of Strength, brushed after the samurai monk Suzuki Shosan.
This calligraphy pays homage to the Great Bodhisattva Avalokiteshvara, Kannon in Japanese, the Great Spiritual Warrior who vowed to forsake enlightenment until all sentient beings are liberated.
The calligraphy is written in vigorous kaisho after the samurai monk Suzuki Shosan, who created a Zen teaching style imbued with the spirit of the warrior.
The calligraphy reads:
"Homage to the Buddha of Strength, Ceaseless Effort and Courage."
