Hollywood is in Broward County, Florida. As of the 2010, it had a population of 140,768. Founded in 1925, the city grew rapidly in the 50.s and 60's. It is now the twelfth largest city in Florida. Hollywood is a principal city of the South Florida Area.
Hollywood Beach has great restaurants, year-round activities on the wide Broadwalk. It has a historic Downtown and unique ArtsPark at Young Circle. There is a trolley service, from Hollywood Beach to Downtown.
The Anne Kolb Nature Center at West Lake Park is a remarkable mangrove eco-system that invites you to explore by paddle, bike or foot. Rent a canoe or kayak for only $15 and paddle through the tidal channels deep in the mangroves. The three paddling trails, each only a half-mile from the broadwalk.
Hollywood is also home to the centuries old tradition of glassblowing at the Downtown ArtsPark. Master glassblowers perform live demonstrations in the glassblowing studio every Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Expert artists use the same traditional process that has been around for centuries.
