i guess i was just fortunate to see the young ones Ann, that was when i was visiting a zoo in Vancouver BC, both the peacock and the babies are not caged and was allow to run free in the zoo with humans… they look like baby ducks, no extraordinary feather etc, very tiny and they follow the mother just like the baby duck would do… they do not look like they will become something so beautiful when they grow up… but as i said they are so baby, it is not fair to judge how they will grow up to be… i always wanted to go back to the zoo to visit them, but it always break my heart to visit zoo, my heart always ache when i see animal being caged in an unnatural environment where they do not belong… so i never go back anymore...

Thank you very much for your insightful comment, Kevin. I had never before seen a female peacock before seeing this one, and I have never seen young ones. Maybe some day...

I love this beautiful image!! a very splendid capture of all the different layers of enchanting feathers from this female peacock!! they are very charming in their own ways too. in my personal view, beauty don't always come from a big fancy trailing tail, beauty is from the heart, it shines from within. i have watch female peacock caring for the young ones (which surprise me because the young ones do not look anything like peacock in my eyes, they are too baby when i see them), and that is very beautiful to me, more beautiful than the fancy clothes the male has!! :D L/F
