Hens Chicks Succulent So Green
Photograph - Photograph
This gorgeous succulent plant is called a Hens and Chicks cactus and grows wonderfully in the California sunshine as I recently saw it there. I purposed to take a macro close up of the center area that details the forming leaves of the plant. The green hues of this plant are striking and show a lush green tone.
Hens and Chicks (Sempervivum tectorum) plants are native to Europe and Asia but are seen in the western region of the United States as they have no trouble growing there and are easy growers. The Hen part of the plant is like a mother plant and small outcroppings from the plant are called the Chicks. They will have flowers in the summer, tiny pink-red ones. They are drought tolerant and can grow in full sun.
