Description
This is a quick painting of one of the acoustic guitars in my collection. Once the largest guitar producing company in the world, the now defunct Harmony company produced literally tens of thousands of instruments that have little to no value to the current collectible market. This one is from 1953 and resides in my current instrument collection. I never played it in my career as a professional musician and it required a lot of work to make it playable at all. It has a pretty nice feel and sound but lacks some of the nuances of some of the more popular producers. I painted this quick painting with 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# paper.

Very nice! Nice, warm overall control of the dominant (raw sienna under the bridge) and subdominant (burnt sienna along the curve, and the green) themes, and reflection at upper left. Interesting description too, on background of guitars, and good title for this piece. This works well as both literal realism, and as semi - abstract.
