Many years ago, for my birthday, my sister and mother took me on a girls' weekend to Kripalu Center for Yoga & Health in the Berkshire Mountains in Stockbridge, Massachusetts. It was a weekend of discovery, dance, soup for breakfast (my favorite), nourishing our souls, adventure, and new discoveries.
The snow was deep, the sky was gray, but it was so wonder-filled. I photographed this statue and have enjoyed this gentle image ever since. This being, a Bodhisattva in my mind's eye, has always given me the feeling of gratitude and harmony, peace, and tranquility. May it be so with you as you gaze upon it as well.
Robert Holden said 'The real gift of gratitude is the more grateful you are, the more present you become.' I feel this is what this statue represents more than anything... gratitude.
This image has been waiting for me to complete it. It called to me today and in no time at all, it was transformed to its finished state and my inner self announced we were done. I'm finally pleased with it.
