Grand Teton Twilight

Description
The early birds were already filing in for a good position with the barns at twilight but I had some other ideas. In one of the most popular spots in the park, the glow in the eastern skies was on the increase - a sure sign of a sunrise that would soon be coming.
And while that first light is sure beautiful on the rugged Tetons, I was there more to catch the shoulder period where both stars and good light can be captured. There's something about those stars that makes it clear that we're looking at a nighttime perspective on the peaks.
This image was captured from one of the two Moulton Barns in Grand Teton National Park, Wyoming.
How I Got The Shot
Since I had no moon to help me with the lighting, I used this blended exposure approach to catch the last of the stars before waiting (16 minutes) to shoot again with more light from twilight. I was happy with my ability to catch the stars at the beginning of the series but wanted better quality and lighting on the foreground. So with better light just a few minutes away, I just had to wait long enough to drop my ISO down (from the original ISO 3200 down to a high quality ISO 200).
Aside from this, it helped greatly to have scouted the area. There's something about this location a little ways away from the barn that really helps to give it some perspective against the big vertical of the Tetons.
