Painting - Watercolor And Ink On Paper
Description
This piece was painted very hurriedly and is thus a bit looser than some of my other work. It is an Acetylene tank and regulator from my workplace. I was striving for a more homogeneous color scheme which causes the viewer to peruse the painting to find the details. Whether I was successful or not is up to the individual viewer. It is painted with Daniel Smith Primatek watercolor paint, 18th century reproduction watercolor paint, and ink on Arches 140# paper.

Hello Ken! Love this piece! Very skilfully handled wate colour. Brilliant artwork

This does have all the right stuff, good composition. And the looseness, too, as in the domed top of the tank, at bottom right. And the calibration of the white pressure gauge brings in a contrasting measure of technical interest (like, I start wondering, is that 1200 pounds per square inch pressure? etc.). A wide range of skills -- from performance to instrument repair to fine watercolors; reminds me of Leonardo da Vince, or Ben Franklin, or Thomas Jefferson.

Fantastic watercolor painting; your colors, textures and shadows are always so exceptional

This is GREAT! Love the title, too. Hey, loose is fine - works for me. :) And as with all your paintings, the granulating colors work so well for your subject matter.
