“Mad Anthony” Wayne, Pennsylvania’s foremost military hero of the Revolutionary War, led the bayonet attack on the fort of Stony Point and played a major role in the battles of Brandywine and Germantown and the siege of Yorktown.
Anthony Wayne is a gilded bronze equestrian sculpture of Anthony Wayne, by John Gregory at the Philadelphia Museum of Art. It is located at 26th Street and the Benjamin Franklin Parkway. It was dedicated on September 17, 1937.
The inscription reads:
