An old African-American smiles as I take his photo in New Orleans on a festival day. He is sitting out there to watch. So are his young neighbors. Plywood separates their porches. This photo to me says "generation gap." And loneliness that often plagues seniors is a situation in our culture. I was ready to sit up there with him and be peaceful.
