This is an original painting of Geevor Tin Mine, in Cornwall, England. The mine was operational between 1911 and 1990, and is now a preserved heritage site.
I tried to capture the mine as if it was still working, and show the contrast of the gritty industrial buildings against the beautiful wind swept Cornish coast.

This is has such fabulous mood and atmosphere. I realize it’s active life was past the Pildark era ( I read all the books … more than once!) … but to me, even before I read your description, that’s where my imagination went. Really outstanding artwork!!! Congratulations on your sale!! F t
