Garage Lock Number Four
Artist
Ken Powers
Medium
Painting - Watercolor On Paper
Description
This is another in my series of lock paintings. I used my same garage latch but painted in a different type of lock. I also decided to make the door red instead of blue just for fun. It is painted with 18th century reproduction watercolor paint on Arches 140# paper.

I liked what you did on this painting Garage Lock # 4 you captured the rust and aging metal and the old wood ! For being a self taught artist you have taught yourself to paint what you see Keep it up ! I happen to like to paint old wood and rusty subjects along with my South Western paintings thank you for the nice comments on my painting The Collection.

Hi Ken, remarkable paintings in your gallery. I love these detail images, they have always something special and make us see the beauty of things that we normally wouldn't see. Wonderful realistic artworks, beautifully executed! The shine on this metal is great!

Thanks for commenting on my "Fisherman's Wharf". I'm still new at this watercolor business & I have alot to learn. Your work is wonderful! It would be hard to choose a favorite. I love how you've taken everyday objects that are generally ignorned & turned them into a "pleasing to look at" piece of art. Thanks for sharing your work. :)))))))

Ken, thank you for your generous comments on my work! I love all of the pieces you have in your gallery -- particularly this one! You've proven that even the most plain object has beauty when viewed on its own.

This is beautiful work Ken. It seems you have found a home using a medium I still struggle with. The detail is absolutely amazing. Thank you so much for sharing your work.
