Fuente En Jardin De La Union, Guanajuato, Guanajuato
The Fuente En el Jardin de la Union, Guanajuato, Guanajuato, Mexico, is, of course, the fountain in the Union Garden, in Guanajuato, capitol of the state by the same name. Guanajuato, a beautiful colonial city in the mountains of central Mexico north of Mexico City, DF, is a must-see. If you have not already studied art or Spanish there, go now! I think there are more art students per square foot there than anywhere but Florence, Italy. There are over 20 museums in town, many centuries-old churches, the annual Cervantino Festival, wonderul free concerts, a couple of cinemas, fabulous food, wonderful people, singing in the streets, people in 16th century Spanish costumes, a public market that looks like a French palace, cobblestone streets, colorful buildings and working fountains, to name a few attractions.
North Americans can go to Guanajuato for a cultural vacation closer and with more safety for less money than in Europe!
