In this beautiful Texas springtime photograph in classic black-and-white, the steeple and bell tower of a vintage white clapboard church in Nelsonville are shown against a pristine sky with white clouds. A large pecan tree is budding, representing new growth in nature and in the unseen people who gather here. Nelsonville is a small unincorporated farm community settled by Czech immigrants in the 1850s. Though rural, it is considered part of the Greater Houston Metropolitan Area.
