Description
The Fort Gratiot Lighthouse, constructed in 1829, was the first lighthouse built on Lake Huron and is the oldest surviving lighthouse in Michigan. The conical stone tower is overlaid with red brick painted white. Now automated, it still serves as a beacon to Great Lakes freighters entering the St. Clair River from Lake Huron.
